Paul's mission statement, "bringing something new into the world," unites with his standard of creative service to insure his clients' satisfaction - whether with a perfect fit and custom design in a pair of cowboy boots, or with a finely crafted leather art piece.
Paul Krause began his romance with leatherworking at the age of nine. He achieved professional status thirty years ago, training in the European boot and shoe repair system and earning a national Silver Cup along the way. His quarter of a century in shoe and boot repair, remodeling, and reconstruction also gave him superior experience in providing customer service.

Then Paul decided it was time to take his craftsmanship to a new level. Wishing to parlay his bootmaking skills into leather art, he spent five years supervising production for one of the world's premier leather goods manufacturers while training with several world-class leather artists. During this apprenticeship Paul mastered advanced techniques, enabling him to create unique leather art pieces.

Under his brand of PK Maker, Paul now crafts custom leather items in his studio in Prescott, Arizona. And he has moved his craft to that new level, exploring leather as an art medium for sculpture and winning recognition from his peers for his skill and artistry. He works traditional and ethnic motifs into his art pieces with Moorish, Native American, and Celtic design elements. Paul is honored that fine artists turn to him for leather picture frames; the collaboration has yielded unique settings that enhance the original creation.
